Capitalism Working Perfectly in Texas

And that is why you're cold.

In the last few days, energy got too expensive.  So "load was reduced" - meaning your power got turned off, not because of a failing grid but because of profit taking.   That is capitalism working perfectly.  It is better for the bottom line to let people freeze today than to pay too much for power to keep them warm.

And the same logic in the past led us to this point.  There is no incentive to winterize all the gas lines that failed.  We can just be without power for a week once every ten years.  That is capitalism working perfectly.  It is better for the bottom line to let people freeze than to pay to secure supplies from cold.

And I predict capitalism will work perfectly tomorrow too.  Energy prices will rise to compensate suppliers that paid high prices to keep lights on.

Windmills can be protected from weather too, btw, they just weren't for all the same reasons.
