What exactly is Adam Silver protecting here and why isn't anybody calling him out?

Really, you don't have any ideas for fixing the imbalance of power and you're excuse is too much travel.  You know they also jump ten feet in the air and crash into wood right? Four times a week. I think they'll be ok on a charter.

Want to reduce travel-  how about this then ... ? Everybody knows the divisions mean nothing, so if you want to reduce travel bring games closer together.  It would probably increase tickets sales too.

Here's how it could work:

Every team plays every team twice.  That's 58 games.

Then have every team play six games against the four closest teams geographically.  No divisions at all.  That's 24 more games for 82 total.  And it is one third of the season traveling close to home.

My beloved Rockets would play the Spurs, Mavericks, Pelicans, and Thunder.  No trip over 400 miles.  And the regional aspect would up ticket sales and interest generally, I think.

Even Portland to Salt Lake City is only 600 miles.

Then add a week or two weeks to the season for a 1-16 playoff with more off days.  Who cares if the league starts in early October instead of mid-October.  Everybody is watching football anyway.  Longer NBA playoffs would be much fun.
