Zuck is up on Capitol Hill lying. And generally (cough) the Senators asking questions and the press covering him are too stupid to catch him. Or don’t want to.
He should go to jail. Equifax breaches are their business model. You don’t have to hack them they’ll sell you what you need.
In future, Zuck will be remembered like the barons of old - robbing and exploiting for billions before the law finally caught up.
Here’s an idea - just outlaw targeted ads. They provide zero value to society and lead to all kids of super evil behavior. That would shrink Facebook and Google without much harming companies like Apple that don’t profit from that garbage. And it would disincent another company from launching with exploration of privacy as their only business model.
I would suggest a law affirming that my personal information is my own but we already have that it is the constitution.
